Seasonal Weather
Winter - December, January, February
The winter months at Salt Fork present the traveler with a variety of weather situations varying from rain to ice and snow. Precipitation amounts vary greatly from year-to-year. The average high for winter is 34 degrees and the average low is 20 degrees. Guests will need to pack warm clothes, including overcoats, boots, gloves, scarf, and hat but do not forget your bathing suit for indoor swimming.
Spring - March, April, May
Spring weather conditions change swiftly in southeastern Ohio. Early spring can be a lot like winter with a likelihood of either rain or snow. Late spring, however, can be very pleasant with temperatures averaging from 45 degree highs in March to low 70 degree highs in May. Low temperatures can range from 28 degrees in March to 50 degrees in May. Guests will need to pack for a variety of weather possibilities, ranging from winter extremes to near summer like conditions. In late spring the temperatures may be very pleasant during the day but remember to bring a jacket for a nighttime stroll. Don't forget your golf gear!
Summer - June, July, August
The long, hot days of summer are the best time to get out and enjoy all of the park's offerings (though the occasional summer storm may put a damper on some outdoor plans). Hiking, biking, jogging, rollerblading, and swimming are just a few of the many popular activities that guests of Salt Fork can expect to enjoy. Not only is summer the hottest season, with daily temperatures averaging 85 degrees, but it is also the wettest, with average seasonal precipitation of about 10.5 inches. Pack light clothes and plenty of sunscreen for a day on the beach or just lounging by the pool.
Fall - September, October, November
Fall is another time of change at Salt Fork. Early fall is very pleasant during the day with highs about 76 degrees, but temperatures often drop during the late evening into the 50 degree range. You may need a light jacket or sweatshirt. By November, conditions can be winter-like with 32 degrees being the average nighttime temperature. Pack warmly but be prepared during the early parts of the season with your shorts and T-shirts.
